Summer Sangria

I am all about easy cocktails. Especially in the summer. While I do appreciate a well crafted drink with so many ingredients and all the bells and whistles, sometimes its nice to just throw some readily available things together for an effortless cocktail.

For this drink, a nice white wine such as a chenin blanc or pinot grigio works well. I would be lying if I said I didn’t buy this bottle almost exclusively for the label. Priorities, people.

In a large pitcher or decanter combine one part pineapple juice to two parts wine. For an average bottle of wine that is about 10oz of pineapple juice. Also dice strawberries and add them into the mixture. Allow to sit refrigerated until chilled. IMG_3778.JPG

When ready to serve top with italian soda in your favorite flavor. I love the blood orange version from trader joe’s, but really any fruit flavored italian soda would work well. The only thing is to not pre-mix it in the decanter or else it will go flat before serving.
